What Guides Us? SREGIPs work follows three guiding principles I.Įngage in Partnerships with the Private Sector Linking Farmers and Small Producers to Markets In both regions and sectors we partner with public and private sector actors to improve the competitiveness of smallholder farmers and SMEs by linking them to national and international supply chains and creating a favorable political environment for inclusive and sustainable growth in Indonesia. Our particular focus is on the island of Lombok, the eastern neighbor of Indonesia’s tourist hotspot Bali. In West Nusa Tenggara we work in the tourism sector with small producers and Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SMEs). Our focus here lies on rubber and pepper, which are among the four most frequently grown crops in the region. We work in two economic sectors in two regions: In West Kalimantan we support smallholder farmers in the agriculture sector. SREGIP is the successor programme of GIZ’s RED, the “Regional Economic Development Programme” (2004-2014). Its main field of activity is private sector development. The programme started in 2015 and has a fix term of two and a half years. What is SREGIP The Sustainable Regional Economic Growth and Investment Programme, or in short SREGIP, is a German-Indonesian cooperation project between the Indonesian Ministry for Development Planning (Badan Perencanaan Pembanguan Nasional – BAPPENAS) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Interationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
